Matterson's side have beaten Keighley and Halifax in the previous rounds |
Castleford Tigers head coach Terry Matterson is predicting their Challenge Cup game at Huddersfield Giants will go down to the wire. The two West Yorkshire clubs meet in the quarter-finals at the Galpharm Stadium on Sunday at 1530 BST. "Everything points to a very close contest between two very good attacking teams," Matterson told the BBC's Super League Show. "They beat us by two points earlier this season. It will be close again." The Tigers have won the Challenge Cup four times, the last in 1986. They reached the quarter-final stages by beating Championship side Halifax 35-34 in golden-point extra-time in the fifth round. Matterson added: "Anyone can beat anyone on their day, we almost learnt that the hard way in the last round against Halifax. "It doesn't get much tougher than going to Huddersfield, but we are two wins away from getting to the final and we will be going for it. "We are aware of the cup history at Castleford and what it means to the fans and the whole area and we want to bring that back to the club." Rugby league fans can watch the Super League Show again via either the Red Button or BBC iPlayer. BBC Radio Leeds will have exclusive full match commentary of Huddersfield Giants v Castleford Tigers on Sunday from 1500 BST.
