McGoldrick scored seven tries for Castleford last season

Castleford Tigers centre Ryan McGoldrick has refuted suggestions that he may be on the verge of a move to Wigan Warriors.

The US international, 27, who signed a four-year deal with Castleford last April, said: "As far as I am concerned this has blown up out of nothing.

"So far I haven't commented as there was nothing to comment on.

"I have a four-year deal with Castleford and I am looking forward to the new season."

Castleford spokesman David Smart said: "Hopefully Ryan's comments will put this matter to bed.

"We can also confirm that the Tigers have received no approach from Wigan regarding Ryan."
