Korkidas made 109 appearances for Wakefield between 2003 and 2006

Castleford Tigers have released prop forward Michael Korkidas.

The 27-year-old joined the Tigers ahead of the 2008 season and still had a another year to run on his contract.

The Greek international, who was born in Australia, featured in 22 matches during Super League XIII following his move from Salford and scored one try.

Korkidas, who has also played for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL, has been strongly linked with a move back to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
