Carlisle ended a run of four games without a win in emphatic style while handing new Huddersfield boss Lee Clark his first defeat since taking charge.
Danny Graham beat Town keeper Alex Smithies to Michael Bridges' near-post cross to stab United in front.
Bridges then slid a 12-yard shot home and Graham Kavanagh made it three after collecting a chested lay-off from Graham and drilling home from 20 yards.
Gary Roberts missed Town's best chance, heading over from close range.
