Diskin has signed a three-year deal with the Bulls

Matt Diskin insists he has no point to prove following his move from Leeds Rhinos to rivals Bradford Bulls.

The 28-year-old hooker ended his 13-year career at Leeds with the surprise move to Odsal because of a lack of match action at the Rhinos.

Diskin told BBC Radio Leeds: "I have no point to prove to anybody.

"I'm always trying to improve myself and my game and as long as I can look myself in the mirror and say I gave everything then I'll be happy."

Diskin will be instantly reacquainted with his Leeds team-mates on the opening weekend of Super League XVI, as Bradford clash with the Rhinos at the Millennium Stadium.

The England player will hope to play his part in putting one over his old club in Wales and then to help the Bulls become a force in the sport again.

"It's been easy to settle in here at Bradford and everyone has been so welcoming. I admit it was strange to pull on the Bulls shirt for the first time though," he said.

"It's a real fresh challenge here and that's one of the reasons I left Leeds. I needed to take myself out of my comfort zone and give myself a new challenge to bring the best out in me again.

"I need to reinvigorate myself a bit. I could have stayed at Leeds and continued to do quite well but I needed to get out that comfort zone.

"To achieve what I want to achieve I needed to move and whether I do achieve those goals or not I know I'll have give myself the best chance of doing it.

"In five years' time I don't want to look back at my career and have any ifs or buts.

"It is an exciting time at the Bulls, with a new squad, new coaches, a new challenge and the club is really making efforts to change. It's refreshing and something I need."
