Bradford tried to poach Diskin from Leeds last season |
Leeds hooker Matt Diskin has agreed a new four-year deal that will keep at the club until the end of 2010. The 24-year-old, whose current contract was due to end this year, has made more than 100 appearances for the Rhinos since joining in 2001.
He returned to action last summer after spending eight months out of the game because of a knee ligament injury.
"I have played all my rugby here and hopefully I would like to remain here for the rest of my career," he said.
"It is good to have got it out of the way early in the year because I was out of contract at the end of the season and now I can concentrate on my rugby without any distraction."
Diskin suffered the knee injury making his Great Britain debut against New Zealand in November 2004.
He was subject of a bid from Super League rivals Bradford last year.
"Matt has been a terrific young player for the club and he is just coming into the prime of his career," said Leeds coach Tony Smith.
