 Rinaldi has captained France |
Bradford Bulls have signed former Catalans Dragons and Harlequins hooker Julien Rinaldi on a short-term contract until the end of June. The 29-year-old played for France in last year's World Cup. Bulls coach Steve McNamara said: "He is comfortable playing either at hooker or in the halves. "He is very quick, a good offensive player with a good kicking game as well so we are really happy we can get him on board." He added: "With both Paul Deacon and Wayne Godwin out injured that has put a whole lot of pressure on our halves. "They have done a tremendous job but we need to give them and the rest of the team some support. "Julien had difficulties last season with his nominated status, which prevented him getting a contract with a Super League club but we are delighted that we have been able to give him the opportunity now." Rinaldi has been playing in Australia after being unable to get a contract because of the new rules introduced regarding foreign players. Speaking from Australia, Rinaldi, who will arrive on Monday, said: "I'm really looking forward to this chance with Bradford. "They are a good side and I wasn't ready to leave Super League last year. "I felt I could stay on in the competition, so I'm really happy to be back. "I've only signed for two months but want to give it another crack, help the Bulls get back up the table and hopefully prove I'm worth a longer contract."
