Huddersfield claimed their first Super League victory of the season after running in 10 tries to beat Wakefield.
Stephen Wild's try gave them an early lead and from then on they never looked back, going 28-0 up before Wakefield got on the scoreboard.
Kevin Brown notched a hat-trick while Brad Drew, Robbie Paul and Martin Aspinwall crossed before the break.
Andy Raleigh, Stuart Jones and Paul Reilly added to Wakefield's misery in the second half.
Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp "The players and I have been very upset by some of the things written about us.
"We have been labelled as strugglers. But the confidence was there and we
knew it was only a matter of time before somebody copped it.
"The focus is always on results. The players though have not done badly all
year and have only been one score off in those seven games."
Wakefield coach John Kear "We are stunned and hurting. We made more mistakes in one half tonight than we have done in whole games before now.
"Huddersfield opened the game at a tremendous speed and we were never able to
keep up. There are no excuses. We were very poor while Huddersfield were
excellent.
"We have accepted the plaudits so far this season but today was a real kick
in the shins. It will take time to lift the players for our game at Bradford on
Monday.
