Lyon has had a huge impact in his two years at Knowsley Road |
Jamie Lyon says he wants to leave St Helens on a winning note when he plays his final game for the club on Saturday in the Grand Final against Hull. Lyon is returning to Australia to join Manly after two years with Saints and has already helped them win the Challenge Cup this season.
"To get the Cup with its tradition was special, but the Grand Final is probably a bit bigger," he said.
"It should be a great spectacle. I'm looking forward to it."
He will also be looking to bury the memory of a Grand Final defeat with Parramatta in 2001.
"We played Newcastle and were beaten," he said.
"We had a great team and were playing well.
"We only lost about four games all year, similar to Saints this year, but hopefully we can go one better."
