Hull reached their first Super League Grand Final and ended Bradford's defence of their title in the process.

The hosts turned in a big defensive performance in the first half and tries from Richard Horne and Motu Tony helped them lead 13-0 at the break.

Bradford hit back through Brett Ferres early in the second half.

But Hull scored a third try through Kirk Yeaman and although Jamie Langley scored late on it is Hull who go through to face St Helens in the final.

Hull took the lead inside the first minute as feeble Bradford defence enabled Horne to race clear after just 46 seconds, with Cooke adding the extras.

After their early shock the Bulls had territorial dominance in the opening quarter but were denied tries three times.

First Lesley Vainikolo was penalised for pushing Motu Tony as they both challenged for a hanging kick and then Marcus Bai saw his effort ruled out for a forward pass before a third effort was called back for a knock on.

Cooke edged Hull further ahead after 27 minutes with a goal before Tony latched onto Horne's precise kick from a scrum, which was harshly awarded, and scampered over in the corner.

Cooke could not land the goal but he slotted a drop goal after 35 minutes to give Hull a 13-0 lead at the break.

The television match official finally ruled in the Bulls' favour five minutes after the break when Brett Ferres went over, Deacon adding the extras.

But Hull restored their margin when Cooke landed the goal after swift hands sent Yeaman over in the corner.

Bradford hit back through Langley, with Deacon converting, with just over 10 minutes remaining but Hull held on with few alarms.
