Bradford heaped more misery on Wakefield, running in seven tries to leave the home side stuck in the Super League relegation spot.
Jamie Langley and Karl Pryce both went over twice as Wakefield, who parted company with coach Tony Smith earlier this week, struggled in the first half.
A Ryan Atkins try late in the half was all they had to show.
Two quick-fire Jamie Rooney tries midway through the second half gave them some hope but it was too late.
Wakefield chief executive Steve Ferres (on appointing a new coach) "Obviously a lot of work needs to be done and it is imperative that we get someone in place as soon as we possibly can. We'll definitely make an announcement next week.
"It's the worst week I have had in 35 years of rugby league. It's been a traumatic week for the players as well. They did show some spirit there.
"We've got two weeks to prepare for our next game at Castleford. We'll just have to hope the results go our way this weekend and other teams don't get too far away."
Bradford coach Steve McNamara "We had to work extremely hard in the first half. We completed a lot of sets and forced them into some errors.
"We knew we had to start well, otherwise. if we got behind and the frenzy was whipped up, it would have been more of a struggle.
"I thought we were pretty efficient in the first half. We ground them down and that effectively won us the game. We set out with a plan and the players stuck to it."
