Wakefield's bid for Super League survival took a massive blow after they surrendered a 20-point lead to slump to an away defeat against Huddersfield.
Wakefield dominated the first half and tries from David Solomona, Paul White and Jamie Rooney, plus a Rooney goal on 43 minutes, put them 20-0 ahead.
The home side got on the scoreboard with Stuart Donlan's try on 50 minutes.
And victory was sealed after a four-try blitz in nine second-half minutes, including two for Martin Aspinwall.
The win ends Huddersfield's run of four straight defeats.
Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp:
"I thought Wakefield played some
really good stuff in the first half. We struggled to contain them and it was all about their momentum at that stage. "But we knew that they could not continue playing at that level of intensity for the whole game and I felt even at 20-0 down that there was a good chance that we could come back.
"We never contemplated losing and the win has helped the players lose a little bit of anxiety over being dragged into the relegation battle."
Wakefield coach Tony Smith:
"It was absolutely unbelievable. We started so well and looked a class above the opposition in every department in the first half. "But about three minutes into the second half we just collapsed. I have kept diverting things away from our fitness levels in recent months but it stood out like a sore thumb today.
"Huddersfield were dead and buried at 20-0 but we just fell apart and the players have to realise that the game lasts for 80 minutes not 40 minutes."
