Rob Burrow's last-minute conversion gave Leeds a thrilling victory over old foes Bradford on Friday.
A Karl Pryce hat-trick looked to have given the Bulls the win as they opened up a 24-14 lead on the hour mark.
But after Danny McGuire crossed the line with 10 minutes left, Scott Donald grabbed his second try of the game to draw the scores level.
Scrum-half Burrow, showing nerves of steel, then stepped up to add the extra points from the right touchline.
Leeds took the lead after five minutes when Donald raced clear on the overlap for his 14th try of the season.
However, two tries in four minutes from Pryce and former Leeds winger Marcus St Hilaire put Bradford 12-4 ahead.
The Bulls went further in front when Pryce scored his second try of the game before Burrow's solo effort reduced the deficit to 18-8 at half-time.
The Rhinos upped the tempo after the restart and closed the gap when youngster Nick Scruton squeezed over the line on 45 minutes.
A Deacon penalty gave the Bulls a little breathing space at 20-14 before Pryce raced 40 metres to complete his hat-trick in spectacular fashion.
Deacon failed to convert - and the miss proved costly as McGuire and then Donald touched down, with Burrow sealing the win.
Leeds coach Tony Smith:
"I wouldn't say we got lucky but we had to fight real hard for it. I thought we got some good calls from the referee.
"We didn't play as well as we have, we didn't have the energy, but I'm not
taking anything away from the opposition.
"Probably the better team got beaten tonight, but I've seen that happen the
other way as well.
"Credit to Steve McNamara. He's had such a tough start to the job at
Bradford and it's clear the players are responding to him and working as hard as they can."
Bradford Steve McNamara:
"I thought we probably did enough to win the game. We performed heroically and it's a tough one to take.
"We just fell short but I'm really pleased with our effort, passion and
commitment.
"We really put a lot of effort into that game but the players aren't feeling
sorry for themselves.
"We would never do that because they've recovered from far worse things than this and they will continue to do so."
