 | MATCH SUMMARY Huddersfield (8) 14 Tries: De Vere Goals: De Vere 2 Leeds (4) 36 Tries: Donald, Walker, Jones-Buchanan, Williams (2), Peacock Goals: Sinfield (4) | Leeds recovered from a half-time deficit to notch a seventh straight win in sweltering heat at Huddersfield. Scott Donald opened the scoring before Michael de Vere's penalty and converted try just before the break gave the Giants the lead at the interval. Chev Walker soon restored parity before Danny Williams and Jamie Jones-Buchanan went over in quick succession. Giants' debutant Kevin Brown pulled back a try before Williams and Peacock touched down to complete Leeds' win. Victory ensured the Rhinos stayed two points behind St Helens at the top of the table, while Huddersfield, in seventh, are only four points off the bottom in the congested lower half. Huddersfield coach John Sharp on losing Keith Mason to injury: "The inability to rotate our players left us with our hands tied and I think that showed in the last quarter of the game. "They applied lots of pressure and we withstood it for a time. "It's part of the battle to play in these conditions. We didn't get chance to see our team with 17 players." Leeds coach Tony Smith: "I thought Gareth Ellis was outstanding and was Great Britain's best player midweek against New Zealand by a country mile. "I hear people calling for St Helens' Paul Wellens to be Man of Steel and he has to be up there. "But if Gareth isn't pushing him closely I'd be surprised."
