Stuart Fielden got his Wigan career off to a winning start in his first game since his �450,000 move from Bradford. Despite failing to score during the match, he still helped inspire the Warriors to their first back-to-back Super League wins this season.
Iafeta Paleaaesina, Nathan McAvoy, Brett Dallas, Sean O'Loughlin and Bryan Fletcher all played their part in the success by bagging a try apiece.
Michael Dobson starred with the boot, slotting over five goals.
While all the pre-match hype was about Fielden, it was Paleaaesina and McAvoy who made the initial impact as they both crossed the Wolves try line in the opening 15 minutes.
But Lee Briers ensured a tight half when he created scores for Simon Grix and Toa Kohe-Love, converting both.
That took the scores to 14-12 at half-time, but Warrington failed to add another point as Wigan showed the sort of form that has been distinctly lacking all season.
Second-half tries from Dallas, O'Loughlin and Fletcher wrapped up the victory and closed the gap between Wigan and safety in the league to four points.
Wigan coach Brian Noble:
"Winning back-to-back games was one of the targets we set ourselves in training this week. "We let a couple of tries in and at the start of the second half they had the ball for the first 10 minutes.
"In weeks gone by they may not have responded in the way they did."
Warrington coach Paul Cullen:
"We're on the ropes and we're taking a bit of punishment. "Jon Clarke's gone off with a dislocated shoulder now too.
"Wigan had all their players and their money on the pitch, and I've got a lot of mine sat in the stands. That's just a fact of life we've got to deal with."
