 | Huddersfield (6) 19 Tries: De Vere, Donlan, March Goals: De Vere 3 Drop: Drew St Helens (0) 16 Tries: Talau, Graham Goals: Sculthorpe 4 | Huddersfield handed St Helens their first loss of the season with a fine display at the Galpharm Stadium. The Giants led 6-0 at half-time courtesy of a Michael De Vere try and conversion in the eighth minute. Willie Talau hit back for the Saints after man-of-the-match Brad Drew had a kick charged down by Leon Pryce. But tries from Stuart Donlan and Paul March and a drop-goal from Drew made it 19-10 and the Giants held on despite a late touch-down from James Graham. Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp: "I'm really pleased with how we've responded over the last two weeks. "We were in dark places over Easter and terrible against Wigan. But the signs were there at London last week and we got a lot of confidence from that. "We've been pretty close to St Helens in the previous four games and had to be at our very best to beat them." St Helens coach Daniel Anderson: "I don't think Sean Long not playing was the reason we lost the game. "We were beaten by a better team. They were more enthusiastic and more committed than us. "Huddersfield played in a desperate fashion and they deserved their win."
