Danny Orr, Pat Richards (2), Chris Ashton, Brett Dallas (2), Danny Tickle, Sean O'Loughlin and Mick Higham scored for Wigan, who also landed five goals. James Evans, Martin Aspinwall and Chris Thorman crossed for the home team with Thorman landing one goal. It was only Wigan's second Super League win of the season and they stay bottom of the table. Huddersfield took an early lead through Evans' try but Wigan hit back to lead 16-4 after 25 minutes. Orr, Richards and Ashton all crossed with Richards converting two of the tries. Aspinwall's converted score brought the deficit back to six points but Wigan then scored through Richards and a converted Dallas effort to make it 26-10 at the break. Tickle romped over untouched to open up a 20-point gap and the visitors increased their lead when O'Loughlin crossed under the posts, with Tickle converting. Dallas' second try took them to the 40-point mark before Higham's converted try rounded off the Wigan scoring. The Giants did manage a length of the field effort from Thorman but they ended a well-beaten side. Giants coach Jon Sharp: "The work ethic in training and the application in games can't be questioned. "But when things aren't going right, you start to worry and panic - and at times I think couple of individuals have lost a bit of form and I think that is key."
Wigan coach Brian Noble: "It was down to the players, they were very determined. "I asked them to make some decisions, and they made those decisions - to be what they could be." Huddersfield: Donlan, Aspinwall, Evans, De Vere, Gardner, Thorman, Paul, Jackson, Drew, Gannon, Nero, Crabtree, Wild. Replacements: Snitch, Jones, March, Raleigh. Wigan: Ashton, Richards, Brown, Goulding, Dallas, Orr, Moran, Paleaaesina, Higham, Seu Seu, Fletcher, James, O'Loughlin. Replacements: Hargreaves, Godwin, Tickle, Wilkes.
