McGuire's dancing feet have left many a player dumbfounded |
Leeds stand-off Danny McGuire has set the Tetley's Super League alight this year with his insatiable appetite for tries and ability to dance through the tightest of defences. With 35 tries in the regular season, he has been a major player for the Rhinos.
Here, he gives BBC Sport a snap-shot collection of memories from his fantastic year, although he admits they will all count for nothing if Leeds fail to win Saturday's Grand Final.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON
The 70-0 defeat of St Helens. We had a hammering at Saints earlier in the year when they put 50-odd past us, so we felt we had something to prove. Getting 70 points that night, when everything clicked, was very satisfying.
FAVOURITE TRY
The first time we played the Bulls at home this season. I threw a bit of a dummy and got past Paul Johnson, I think. It wasn't the most spectacular try, but to score against the Bulls was very special.
WORST MOMENT
The defeat against Bradford in the play-offs. It certainly wasn't our best performance of the year. We were way off our best, but we've got another chance against them now. Hopefully we can put it right.
BIGGEST TACKLE OF THE YEAR
The biggest one I saw came from Danny Ward. He's put some awesome shots away this year, including one against Warrington that made my eyes water.
MOST ADMIRED TEAM-MATE
Jamie Jones-Buchanan has had a terrific year. He had a really bad injury a couple of years ago and the determination he's shown in fighting back from that has been great. To come back like he has, is admirable. Now he's forcing his way back into first-team contention again. I admire him a lot.
BEST GROUND - APART FROM HEADINGLEY
The KC Stadium. It must be great for the Hull lads to play there. It's a great atmosphere and boasts quality dressing rooms. It' really is a superb venue.
