St Helens coach Ian Millward has signed a new contract to keep him at Knowsley Road for the next five years.

Millward's original contract was due to expire at the end of next year but Saints have moved quickly after the Aussie turned down the coaching job at West Tigers.

Millward took over from Ellery Hanley as Saints boss two years ago and has led the club to the Super League crown, World Club Championship and Challenge Cup final success.

Millward, 41, signed the new deal before Friday's Super League clash with London Broncos.
