Ex-hooker Hall named Wales coach
Martin Hall has been appointed as the new coach of the Wales national side.

The 36-year-old former Wigan and Wales hooker will take charge for the first time for the European Nations Cup match against Scotland on 16 October.

Anthony Farrell, who has guided Halifax to the National League One Grand Final semi-final, will be Hall's assistant.

"Martin was our first choice. He's very proud of his heritage and he's well up for the challenge," said Wales Rugby League chairman Mark Rowley.

"It's good to have Anthony as well because he's making good progress at Halifax."

Hall, who won seven caps for Wales from 1995-96 and is a former coach at Hull Kingston Rovers, succeeds Stuart Wilkinson who was appointed last June.

Meanwhile, Warrington captain Lee Briers has made himself available for selection after missing last season's tournament through injury.
