Quentin Laulau-Togagae eyes Samoa international place
Laulau-Togagae in action for Samoa against New Zealand
Sheffield Eagles new overseas signing Quentin Laulau-Togagae says he hopes his move to England will boost his international prospects with Samoa.
The 25-year-old made his debut for Samoa against New Zealand in October last year.
Laulau-Togagae told BBC Radio Sheffield: "If I have a good season with the Eagles they will look at me again to represent my country.
"I would like to maintain my position with Samoa."
Laulau-Togagae can play either at wing, centre, or half-back and made his Eagles debut in the opening Championship game against Widnes at Bramall Lane, after waiting nearly four months for a visa.
"It was pretty frustrating but in the end it was good to get it approved and I'm happy to be here now," he added.
Despite not being available for the Eagles in pre-season, Laulau-Togagae managed to train back in Brisbane while he waited for international clearance.
"I did a little bit of training with my old club, so it's practically what the boys are doing now," he continued.
"I knew I needed to keep fit because I was going straight into the squad."
