David Ellison has signed a new one-year deal with Oldham Roughyeds ahead of the Championship One final against York. The 28-year-old prop forward has been ever-present for Oldham this year, playing in all 27 games. Ellison began his career at Wigan and had spells with Swinton and London Skolars before joining the Roughyeds. He told the club website: "My first season here has exceeded expectations and I've loved every minute and dreading it ending." He added: "I'm expecting us to win promotion, but if we lose I still want to be part of the same group of players next year, playing in front of the same superb supporters."
