Oldham Roughyeds beat York to progress into grand final
Oldham Roughyeds beat York City Knights 41-32 to book their fourth grand final appearance in a row.
In an open game the Roughyeds eventually came out on top after four second half tries.
Oldham coach Tony Benson told BBC Radio Manchester: "They're a very big side and they used it well today putting us under all sorts of pressure.
"I think the turning point was once we got the ball and kept it and it all started turning for us."
He added: "From one to seventeen we did pretty well a couple of the tries were direct from the training paddock which I was really happy with.
"It's been like that all year to be honest and everybody has ground out a win."
"I think everybody pitched in but there were certainly patches where we let ourselves down as a group."
The Roughyeds have had problems off the field throughout the season as they continue to search for a new permanent home and were also issued a winding-up order by HM Revenue & Customs.
"It means a hell of a lot to the club particularly as we've got five players in the team that have come up from our reserve grade," Benson said.
"We didn't have a team until the end of November and when you look at the starting line-up to last years final there is only six players, we've totally rebuilt."
Oldham will play either York City Knights or the Blackpool Panthers in the final which will be played in at Warrington's Halliwell Jones stadium.
