Workington coach Gary Charlton keen to strengthen squad
Workington Town coach Gary Charlton has revealed he and the board are already looking at strengthening the squad after their play-off exit by Blackpool.
Town lost 36-26 in their Championship One eliminator, and Charlton has an idea where he will need to bolster to improve on this season's finish.
"We know the players that we want and will try to go out and get them," Charlton told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We're close to keeping the majority and we'll get in a few to strengthen."
Charlton added: "Hopefully we can strengthen this team, because we've got a good bunch of lads here, who can play good rugby and onwards and upwards as they say."
Meanwhile the Town coach has spoken of his pride in his players despite the club's exit from the Championship One play-offs.
Although the team slipped out at the elimination stage, Charlton has been delighted to see his side in the play-off mix after a tough season.
"We've been limited, we had a small squad with injuries and suspensions," Charlton added.
"But the players never give in and that's all I can ask of them.
"We've played some good rugby at times, we've defended very well at times, it's just a matter of getting that in one package."
