Cullen believes silverware is in sight for a second successive season

Widnes coach Paul Cullen has said his side are determined to put their injury woes behind them and advance to the Northern Rail Cup final on Sunday.

The Vikings face Keighley at the semi-final stages as they struggle to get over the loss of key personnel.

Cullen told BBC Radio Merseyside: "It's a big one and we're pretty determined to keep hold of our Northern Rail Cup.

"We know we have got to fight our way through another injury crisis and produce the goods once again."

Widnes face a Keighley side who have struggled to come to terms with life in the Championship and currently sit bottom of the league table.

Despite Keighley's struggles, Cullen said his side cannot assume they will be the team that advances to the final at Blackpool's Bloomfield Road.

"Keighley have beaten decent opposition," Cullen continued. "They were very successful last year but have struggled to get to the pace of the Championship.

"Although they are not winning games, they have been playing consistently so far. All their success this season depends on one game and that's the semi-final on Sunday.

"They will relish the fact they're playing against a fancied side going through yet another injury crisis. So we're forewarned, forearmed and we're on our toes.

"We're pretty determined to get to the final at Blackpool again."
