York City Knights have signed York Acorn centre or second row Michael Embleton until the end of the season. The 28-year-old has been named in the reserves squad for Thursday's match against Leigh. He could also be called into the first team for Sunday's Northern Rail Cup tie at Keighley. General manager Ian Wilson said: "Mike has been a stand-out player with Acorn for years. He is a fully committed player who always gives 100%." He added: "I'm sure he will be an asset to us. "He also give us options in a number of positions which will be important as we get to the business end of the season." An agreement is in place for the contract to be terminated at any point should Embleton wish to return to the amateur game.
