Henderson joined Barrow from Gateshead during the winter break |
Barrow hooker Andrew Henderson is looking forward to renewing old acquaintances with the Challenge Cup fourth round tie against Castleford. Henderson enjoyed five successful years with the Tigers before moving to Gateshead and is excited about the prospect of a return to his old club. "Personally I'm looking forward to coming back to the Jungle and meeting up with a few familiar faces," he said. "It's a game that we will be looking forward to." Also among the former Castleford alumni at Barrow are Henderson's former Gateshead team-mate Michael Knowles and Australian second-row forward, Ned Catic. Henderson added: "We'd have preferred a home tie against Super League opposition for the people of Barrow. "But it will be a great opportunity, especially for some of our younger guys, to face a Super League side." Last season Henderson was a key part of Steve McCormack's Gateshead Thunder side that made it to the fifth round of the competition. Thunder were handed a home tie against Super League giants St Helens, which they lost 66-6.
