Thornley came through the Wigan Warriors academy

Whitehaven have completed the signing of Wigan Warriors reserve centre Andrew Thornley and handed a professional deal to reserve hooker Carl Sice.

Thornley, 20, spent last season on loan at Wigan's Super League rivals Salford City Reds, scoring a try in his only appearance, against St Helens.

Sice, 29, rejoined the club at the end of last season and impressed coach Ged Stokes enough to secure a contract.

Both players have agreed one-year deals at the Recreation Ground for 2010.
