St Helens-born Haggerty played for Ireland in last year's World Cup |
Widnes have re-signed Ireland prop Gareth Haggerty on a 12-month deal, as well as bringing in Wigan's Chris Gerrard and Oldham's Thomas Coyle. Haggerty, 28, played for the Vikings as a youngster, before Super League spells with Salford City Reds and Harlequins, who recently released him. England Academy back-row forward Gerrard, 19, has signed a two-year deal with the club. Scrum-half Coyle, 21, has played in Super League for Wigan. Haggerty said: "I'm really excited about coming back to Widnes and meeting up with some familiar faces. I didn't really want to leave in the first place."
