Northampton Casuals face the biggest game in their history when they play Parkside Hawks this weekend in the Conference national quarter-final. The South Leeds side are renowned as a feeder club for professional teams. "The players have been training all season for this," Casuals coach Joe Smith told BBC Radio Northampton. "If we win, it'll be a real boost for Rugby League in this area. And it'd be one of the biggest things I've done in the game." The Casuals have won all 10 of their competitive fixtures this season but Parkside Hawks represent a big challenge for the Northamptonshire side. "[Parkside] are going to be very quick, and they'll try to exploit our lack of Rugby League knowledge. But we've got a good blend of Union and League players, and we've got real athletes. I can't see Parkside getting through us too often," Smith added. The fixture takes place at East Riding RLFC in Hull on Sunday, 23 August. "If we beat this team, we will go on through this entire competition. It'd set a real marker down for Northampton in Rugby League."
