Swinton Lions coach Paul Kidd has said his players must go back to basics after losing 30-26 to York Knights. The defeat leaves the Lions eight points adrift of the top two in the Championship One table with just a month of the season left. He told BBC Radio Manchester: "We've got to look at fundamental errors. "I think in the second half against York our completion rate, ball in hand, was seven from 20 and seven from 20 is absolutely committing suicide." "All right, there's the argument completion rates are fairly old-fashioned if you will," he added. "You don't win games because you have a good completion rate and you do win games if you take your chances but we've put ourselves under a bit of pressure and we need to start winning and winning fast."
