It is hoped that David March's injury is merely a sprain |
York City Knights loose forward David March could be fit for Monday's Championship One game at home to Keighley Cougars. March suffered a suspected broken hand in the win at Workington last weekend, but swelling has prevented the injury from being X-rayed. Coach Paul March told BBC Radio York: "He trained on Tuesday. He'll be a doubt but I'll leave that up to him. "He's been playing the game long enough to know if his body is up to playing." Both Danny Ratcliffe and Richard Knight could be back in contention after injury but Paul March, twin brother of David, said neither player could expect to go straight back into the side. The Knights lost the away fixture by one point at Cougar Park in April and March said his side is keen to win the home return. "I think there's a point to prove to ourselves within the club," said March. "We went there, they're one of the title contenders and we got something out of the game even though it wasn't a win. "For Monday we don't want them to get anything out of the game."
