Raiders beat Widnes to progress

Barrow Raiders booked their place in the last eight of the Northern Rail Cup with a 12-4 win at home to Widnes Vikings on Wednesday.

Dave Clark's Raiders took control of the match and were in front at the break through a converted Liam Harrison try, with Paul Noone nailing the kick.

In the second period a try from wing Dean Gaskell brought the visitors hope.

But Barrow finished off the match with a converted try by hooker Andrew Ellis, Noone once more slotting over his kick.
