Barrow slumped to a heavy 40-10 defeat by fellow Championship side Halifax in the Northern Rail Cup on Sunday.

The Raiders were 18-0 down at the break after conceding three tries that were all converted and despite a second-half fight-back conceded another four.

Liam Finch and Liam Campbell grabbed the two consolation tries, with a conversion from Paul Noone.

The defeat was Raiders' first of the season, coming on the back of two successive wins in the competition.
