Nick Goodger is an important player for Cavaliers

Oxford's annual Town versus Gown rugby league clash will be a showcase for the sport in city, according to the president of one of the clubs.

"Rugby league is developing well in Oxford through the Cavaliers and the University clubs," said Matt Walsh of the Cavaliers.

"The game has an infectious quality due to the pace and openness of the play," he added.

Sunday's match starts at 1330 BST on the Stratfield Brake sports ground.
