Patterson has seen his side lose seven times so far this season

Under-pressure Oxford boss Darren Patterson insists he has not lost any of his resolve to be a success at the club despite their poor start.

The U's are currently languishing in 19th in the table, but Patterson told BBC Oxford that he has the hunger and desire to turn things around.

"I am more determined than ever. If we can get through these setbacks we can get through anything," he said.

"I am a fighter and I believe I can get through those difficulties."

The former Northern Ireland defender has been subject to criticism for Oxford United's inconsistency this season, but says everyone at the club must be prepared to take criticism if the team underperforms.

"If a fan criticises you then you have to take it, even if you are top of the league. Anything that comes your way you just have to accept it and know why it has been said and just get on with it."
