Darren Patterson is under pressure after a poor start to the season

Oxford manager Darren Patterson is keen to find some money to strengthen his squad as soon as possible.

The U's went down to a seventh defeat of the season at Altrincham on Sunday -and Patterson would like fresh faces.

"I hope and pray I can magic some money from somewhere to get one or two more," Patterson told BBC Oxford. "We have to freshen it up."

New chairman Kelvin Thomas has admitted the club are suffering from short-term financial issues.

Loan signing Karleigh Osborne recently returned to Brentford, although Patterson had been keen to extend his stay.
