Widnes Vikings have re-signed back-row forward Lee Doran from Leigh Centurions for the 2009 season. The 26-year-old Irish international made over 30 appearances for Widnes in his first spell and helped the Vikings lift the Northern Rail Cup in 2007. "Widnes is going to be a very exciting place over the next few years," said Doran. "I'm looking forward to pulling on the Vikings shirt again." "I know a lot of the players and I am really excited about our prospects." Widnes head coach Steve McCormack is delighted with the new signing and believes he can make an impact on his return to the club. "Lee showed in our recent game at Hilton Park what a dynamic forward he is," said McCormack. "His ability to release the ball in the tackle is second to none. I'm sure that he will be an integral member of our squad next season."
