Widnes Vikings coach Steve McCormack has signed a new one-year contract with the National League one club.

Chairman Steve O'Connor moved swiftly to secure the services of McCormack for next season after missing out on a Super League licence in July.

"I'm delighted to be staying at Widnes," said McCormack.

"Exciting things are happening here and I want to be a part of it. I'm confident I can continue to build a successful team."
