Salford confident over new ground

The Rugby Football League and Salford City Reds remain confident the club's new ground is on track even though its developers have entered administration.

Red City Developments were put into administration on Friday, just days after the Reds won a three-year Super League franchise.

But the club has insisted plans for the 35m, 22,000-capacity stadium is still on schedule to be completed by 2010.

And an RFL spokesman also maintained the project would go ahead as planned.

The regeneration project includes plans for shops and an hotel. It has been planned for a site at Barton next to the M60 motorway.
