York City Knights will continue to get better according to assistant coach James Ratcliffe. The Knights earned a bonus point in Sunday's 29-20 National Two defeat by unbeaten Barrow. Ratcliffe told BBC Radio York: "You can't be too disheartened against a side that's unbeaten. "I think as we progress we'll get to a stage where people start looking at us and saying 'They're are going to take some beating, are York'." Ratcliffe praised the side for earning the bonus point but felt they could have had more. "People speak about bonus points and people talk about getting rewarded for failure. But we still had to defend in the last two sets when we didn't have the ball and Barrow wanted to come back and take a bonus point off us. "I believe we should have had a lot more and, with a bit more patience and a bit more nous, at the right end of the park I believe we could have got three points instead of the one." Ratcliffe said the Knights will still get better as the season goes on. "We're growing again. We've grown in stature since the start of the season and we continue to improve. "The difference is now people are wanting to come in to work and really really work hard because they can see some results from the efforts they put in in the first half of the season."
