Raiders angry with AWOL Weisner

Cannot play media. Sorry, this media is not available in your territory.

Barrow Raiders chairman Dave Nixon has spoken out at AWOL utility man Pat Weisner and the circumstances which led to his abrupt departure from the club.

Weisner is believed to have gone back to New Zealand and Nixon is frustrated by the Australian player's behaviour.

"I'm extremely disappointed with Pat Weisner," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"The chief executive, Des Johnson, went out of his way to help Pat. Pat said to his team-mates he'd see them at training and then just disappeared."

Weisner made disparaging comments about the Raiders' coaching methods and the quality of rugby in National League Two after leaving.
