McCarthy-Scarsbrook scored one of Harlequins' second-half tries |
Harlequins: (12) 24 Tries: Randall, Howell, Sheriffe, McCarthy-Scarsbrook Goals: Paul (2), Purdham (2) Huddersfield: (0) 0 Two tries in each half saw Harlequins rack up their fourth consecutive win and whitewash Huddersfield. Chad Randall notched the first but Quins were almost pegged back straight away as Stephen Wild was hauled down just inches from the line. Rob Purdham and Danny Orr combined to put David Howell over for the second. Orr helped set up Rikki Sheriffe to go round Paul Whatuira for Quins' third try and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook made it four after being set up by Purdham. Harlequins head coach Brian McDermott: "It's another great result for the club and our spirit shone through again, particularly in defence. "There was a 10-minute period in the first half when Huddersfield really had a crack at us but we kept them out. "If the season was five games long we would be in the Grand Final but we all know there is a long way to go." Huddersfield head coach Jon Sharp: "We were totally out-enthused by a team who work for one another. "If you don't come to the Stoop with enthusiasm then you are going to struggle - that's what happened to us. "They chased harder, ran tougher and worked harder for one another than us. I'm very disappointed with that performance and we've got to improve."
