Huddersfield: (10) 28
Tries: Lolesi, Brown, Robinson, Crabtree, Elford
Goals: Thorman (4)

Hull: (8) 8
Tries: Hall
Goals: Tickle (2)

Huddersfield scored five tries as they cruised to their first win over over Hull since September 2004.

Jamahl Lolesi put the home side ahead before Craig Hall and the boot of Danny Tickle gave Hull the lead, but that was as good as it got for the visitors.

Kevin Brown scored just before the break with Luke Robinson's fifth try in four games stretching that advantage.

Any late fears were ended by Eorl Crabtree's try and Shane Elford's score rounded things off.

  • Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp:
  • "I could see the weight of possession and field position taking its toll around the half hour, and we started to win the energy battle.

"We've been good over the last two weeks defensively and we fixed things up from the opening two games.

"Offensively we have got a cutting edge which we've lacked in the past."

  • Hull FC coach Peter Sharp:
  • "I thought we really tried but lack smartness and finesse at the moment. Poor discipline cost us and they played particularly well.

"We had a lot of kids out there again. To play well in any sport you need to train, but we just haven't had the players on the park.

"We'll get better. There's tough times at our club but we'll get through it."
