March should have a fully fit squad for the start of the league season |
York City Knights are approaching the new National League Two campaign with increasing confidence. Following on from their draw with Featherstone Rovers in the National Rail Cup, coach Paul March believes they are making good progress.
He told BBC Radio York: "We've still got a lot of work to do before the National League campaign starts but we're working towards that.
"It takes time for a new team to gel but each time we're improving."
The Knights start their league campaign at home to Gateshead Thunder on Good Friday.
Before that they still have two more matches in the group stages of the Northern Rail Cup.
The first of those games is on Sunday at Gateshead and although the Knights' chances of progressing are slim, March is still looking forward to getting his side out on the pitch again.
"We'll rally the troops together and hopefully have another good performance," he added. "We can try different combinations now and get ready for this big start [to the league]."
