Edmondson is one of several Salford players to move to Cas |
Castleford have continued to strengthen for their return to Super League with the signing of former St Helens forward Mark Edmondson on a 12-month deal. The 27-year-old follows Luke Dorn and Michael Korkidas in leaving relegated Salford to join the Tigers. "I'm delighted to join. I've always known it as a good club with great fans and it's fantastic to have this chance to get back to the top," he said. "The injuries seem out of the way and I'm looking forward to the pre-season." Edmondson spent eight seasons with Saints and also had a year in the NRL with the Sydney Roosters in 2006 before joining Salford. | 606: DEBATE |
"It's almost like a fresh start for me and another chance so I'm determined to go for it," he added. The Tigers have also given a new 12-month contract to former Wakefield winger Michael Wainwright, who was in their National League One Grand Final-winning team. "We believe that we have made two good signings in Mark and Mike, especially as they probably both feel that they have something to prove," said Castleford chief executive Richard Wright.
