Fa'afili faces Quins legal threat
Henry Fa'afili
Fa'afili scored 21 tries in the regular season for Warrington
Harlequins RL are threatening to take legal action against winger Henry Fa'afili after he joined French rugby union club Biarritz.

Fa'afili signed a two-year deal with Quins last month after being released by Warrington Wolves.

But it has now emerged that the New Zealand international has joined Biarritz on a two-year contract.

"We will challenge this legally, and in Europe if we have to," said Quins chairman Ian Lenagan.

"If they think I will sit back and do nothing, then they are wrong," he told the League Express newspaper.

The 27-year-old was the leading try-scorer in Super League in 2007 with 21 efforts for Warrington but was released because of salary cap issues.

Last week Harlequins director of rugby Tony Rea told BBC Sport that Fa'afili would be playing for Biarritz in the short-term but that his long-term future was unclear.

The Super League season does not start again until February next year, while the French domestic season gets off to a belated start after the end of the current World Cup.
