Leeds' Danny McGuire goes in for one of his side's tries |
Leeds: (24) 42 Tries: Senior, Webb 2, Penalty, McGuire, Toopi, Kirke Goals: Sinfield 7 Warrington: (14) 26 Tries: Fa'afili 3, Penny 2 Goals: Briers 3 Leeds increased the pressure on Warrington's under-fire coach Paul Cullen with a comfortable win to stay joint top of the Super League. Despite a hat-trick from Henry Fa'afili and two tries from youngster Kevin Penney, Warrington struggled at times. Brent Webb scored twice for Leeds to bring his season's try tally to 15. Keith Senior, Danny McGuire, Clinton Toopi and Ian Kirke also found their way over with Kevin Sinfield kicking seven out of seven goals. Warrington coach Paul Cullen:
"We'll take an awful lot of positives about the way we set about our business into the St Helens game next weekend. "The performances are getting better, the results are going to come and I'm thoroughly enjoying everything that we do. "That's the only way to go about it. It's a challenge, it's exciting and it's been a great week's work in getting the team prepared to produce a performance of that standard." Leeds coach Tony Smith:
"How far out of the top six are Warrington? "They're not far out of it. It's where they are at the end that really matters, and it's really unfair to judge sides half-way through a season. "We like to sensationalise things, but the competition is very tight and you can have runs of losses and runs of wins. Huddersfield are a great example of that.
