National League Two outfit Celtic Crusaders have lined up a prestigious pre-season friendly against Australian champions Brisbane Broncos. The Bridgend club will face the Broncos at the Brewery Field on 15 February.
Crusaders coach John Dixon helped seal the high-profile clash, having spent 10 years on the backroom staff at Brisbane until joining Celtic 12 months ago.
"This is the biggest thing to happen to Welsh rugby league ever," said Celtic's operations manager Gerald McCarthy.
"It's fantastic news and will put Crusaders and the sport on the map.
"We are in talks with Australian-branded companies to sponsor the game and we could have our first full house at the Brewery Field since the days of the Warriors."
The Broncos will use the match as part of their build-up to their World Club Challenge meeting with Super League champions St Helens on 23 February.
