Lockyer becomes the second player to win the Golden Boot twice |
Australia captain Darren Lockyer, 29, has been voted the international player of the year for the second time. Lockyer, who also landed the award in 2003, is only the second player to win the Golden Boot award twice, emulating countryman Andrew Johns (1999 & 2001).
Great Britain and Leeds forward Jamie Peacock received the international forward of the year accolade.
Kangaroo winger Greg Inglis took the newcomer award while New Zealand boss Brian McClennan was coach of the year.

Australian-born Ashley Klein, one of Super League's leading officials, was named referee of the year.
Lockyer, who plays his club rugby for Brisbane Broncos in the NRL, was also named international back of the year.
The former full-back will hope to land another piece of silverware this week when he leads out the Kangaroos in Saturday's Tri-Nations final against New Zealand.
